  Back to Inner Club

Rules: Updated 2/5/2010

1. New members cannot play in Silver/Gold Classics. New members must be a Men’s Inner Club Member for 1 season to be eligible to play in these tournaments.  Returning members are allowed to play under the following definition: A returning member is defined as someone who has been a past member but with less than a 2 year break in membership. He may also be eligible to play if he has a current verifiable MGA/USGA handicap with a review by the tournament committee.

2. All tournaments shall be played at 85% of your handicap except for the Gold Classic which will be played at 50% of your handicap. In the event a tournament has plus handicap players competing, the plus players will have their score cards adjusted by 85% of their plus handicap. They will then have to make 2 as score of par on the highest ranked handicap holes. Currently a plus 1 will have to make a 2 on the 14 th for par. A plus 2 or 3 a 2 on the 14 th & 6 th for par.

3. The Men’s Inner Club shall conduct all play on the course by U.S.G.A. rules. Local rules shall be posted in the Pro Shop and at other conspicuous places in the club house. All controversies during tournaments shall be brought to the Pro Shop and will be ruled on, with advice of the Head Pro, by the Tournament Committee. If during play, a controversy in the rules arises, you must declare it to your competitor, and then play 2 balls in until the completion of the hole. Note both scores on the card and continue play to the finish of the round. It is then you bring the card to the Pro Shop for a ruling. Score cards must be turned at the end of each round, or the player/teams failure to do so will result in disqualification. All rulings will be final. All 4 man tournaments could be changed to 5 man tournaments due to the increase in membership.

4. All score cards, played under U.S.G.A. rules, shall be reported through the Handicap System. We shall follow the U.S.G.A. Equitable Handicap Scoring System. The system as directed by the U.S.G.A. is as follows: 0-9 max score double bogie, 10-19 max score 7, 20-29 max score 8, 30-39 max score 9 and so forth.

5. For the purpose of establishing play from the Blue & White tee boxes this will be the rule: The combination at the age of 65 plus your handicap to the total of 80 will allow you the ability to play from the white tees. Once you move to the white tees you must stay on that tee box for the year. It is your choice to play from the blue or white, if you are eligible. The cutoff date for the year will be April 1st. meaning if you are 65 on or before April 1st of the current year, you may move to the white tees. If you turn 65 after April 1 st you must play from the blue tees . This rule includes all tournaments.

6. Missing a tournament tee time is automatic (1) Tournament Suspension. No telephone call (2) Tournament Suspension.

7. Excluding members running for office, any issue to be put on the ballot must be supported by a minimum of 50 members of the Gannon Men’s Inner Club. Any issue voted on and accepted by the membership will remain in effect for a minimum of 2 years.

8. All inner club dues must be paid before entering any inner club tournament. Only members of the Gannon Men’s Inner Club may compete in Tournament sponsored by the Men’s Inner Club with the exception of the Men’s Member Guest Tournament where the member plays with his guest.
